So I obviously track the tag “New York City” on tumblr.. anyway, it’s so crazy to see people who are so passionate about living here, saying things like “i will get there!” and this sort of phrase.

I think for a lot of us who live in other countries, New York represents everything that we love about America. Its not just the city itself, its not the people in it but its the CULTURE, its what it stands for. New York was the center of immigration at one point in time, and probably that feeling of coming to the “new world” that those people had has translated down to our generation now. I know that to me, New York is everything I want in life. It’s freedom, it’s “making it in the world”, it’s just the epitome of everything to me.
